QUESTION: How much does it cost?

Our price includes the first session and 1 follow-up session at the 1, 3 or 6 month mark to review your progress (two sessions in total). Additional sessions available for $49.
Other companies charge thousands of dollars and make you sign a contract for a minimum number of visits. Capital Budget Strategies, LLC will not waste your time or make you go broke trying to save money! You will be financially ready after your first visit.
QUESTION: What exactly does an Austin Financial Coach do?
ANSWER: The Austin Financial Coach at Capital Budget Strategies, LLC, will sit down with you, your spouse or partner (if you have one), and conduct a complete financial review.
Together, we will determine your Net Worth, analyze your spending, set up a monthly Household Budget, build an Emergency Fund, create a Snowball Debt Repayment Plan (if needed), compare your spending to recommended amounts and let you know how well you are doing saving for retirement.
Finally, we review your bank accounts and introduce you to on-line banking and automated payments.
QUESTION: What experience does your Financial Coach have?
ANSWER: Chuck is well qualified to provide financial guidance and has been doing so for years!
He holds a BS in Engineering from West Point, an MBA, and a JD and obtained the prestigious Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation. He is currently enrolled in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Program at the University of Texas at Austin.
Chuck has worked as legal counsel, investigator and senior official investigator for the Office of Inspectors General for several Federal Agencies in Washington, DC concentrating in financial fraud and other criminal activity.
During the Iraq War he deployed for 28 months, including a tour as the Inspector General, Multi-National Force. He was awarded two Bronze Stars for his service.
His best qualification, however, may be the time he lost his job and had to go into debt to pay his bills. He knows exactly what it means to suffer financial stress!
QUESTION: Will I get confused with your technical financial language and complicated charts and spreadsheets.
ANSWER: Most Austin Financial Coaches and Financial Advisors charge high fees, because they “lease” expensive software that builds confusing and complicated charts and spreadsheets. Don’t worry, we will not add to your confusion.
When you leave our session, you have a full understanding of your finances, our recommendations and a monthly budget you can live with. You also take home our 2020 Financial Workbook® containing the 9 worksheets we completed during the session.
QUESTION: How long with the session take?
ANSWER: The first session takes approximately 4 hours. That may sound long, but we conduct a detailed review of your financial situation. We work with you, step-by-step to get your financially organized.
Actually, 4 hours is not a long time to change your attitudes about money and budgeting!
QUESTION: Where do we meet?
ANSWER: Our Financial Coach can meet at your office, your home or our home-office in Central Austin. Anywhere that is private, quiet, has a big table and plenty of good coffee!
QUESTION: What documents should I bring?
ANSWER: The more current information you provide, the more accurate the results.
Before each session, we provide a checklist of recommended documents to bring. These include statements from your savings and checking accounts, your IRA and other personal investments, car loan, school loans, monthly bills (rent/mortgage, utilities, commuting, etc.) and credit card accounts.
Also, bring your most recent pay statement.
QUESTION: Do I have to sign a contract for multiple visits or can I just have one visit to get organized?
ANSWER: No contracts, commissions or hidden fees here. It should not cost you lots of money just to organize your money.
Our $149 fee includes the first session and one additional follow-up session. Most clients come back for a check-up at the 1, 3 or 6 month mark, but all are absolutely ready to take over their finances after the first session.
After the first two sessions, you can also request additional sessions for only $49.
