2. We walk you through a series of worksheets to determine which areas of your life are costing you too much money. Then we provide suggestions on how to readjust your cash flow so you can start saving more of your money. Our worksheets never lie or sugarcoat the results. Ever think about the difference between “needs” and “wants?”
3. Next, we’ll help you build an individually tailored, personal budget. Sounds boring, but without a plan for every dollar – you’ll never get out of debt or grow your savings.
4. We discuss the importance of an Emergency Fund and help you start one. Without the safety net of an Emergency Fund, your finical plan can be wiped out with one small “disaster.”
5. Finally, using a variety of the Snowball Debt Reduction Method, we develop a plan to help you get out of debt and end your dependence on credit cards. Yes, you can live without credit cards, just like our grandparents.
6. Congratulations – we’ll leave you with a fresh outlook on your finances and a personalized management plan, which can be easily adjusted as your savings grow.
In contrast, an Austin Financial Advisor usually provides advice on investments (stocks and bonds), taxes, long-term savings or insurance needs. They can be very expensive and might work on commissions (meaning they will try to sell you financial products and make a nice commission for themselves).
